Hello World: Introducing Myself

Super stoked to have you drop by my little online hangout. I’m Mey Adam, and I’m basically here to spill the beans on who I am and what I’m all about.

Originally from Kuala Kubu Bharu, small town in Selangor, I’ve been through the usual life rollercoaster – the highs, the lows, and all the funky loops in between.

In this blog, I’m just gonna share about my work, my life, and everything in between, throwing in a bit of my own weirdness for good measure. So, grab a virtual seat, let’s shoot the breeze, and get ready for some laid-back blogging vibes. Excited to have you along for the ride!

I do have a real name but I preferred to be called Mey – that’s the name I roll with, and it became my sort of trademark during my freelancing days. Now, let me give you a quick rundown of my journey so far.

I delved into the world of software engineering, specializing in multimedia system development, at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) from 2014 to 2022.

Yeah, I might have taken a bit longer to cross that graduation finish line, but hey, life’s not a sprint, right? I opted for a few extra semesters because, honestly, I was more into soaking up life’s experiences than racing to complete my degree.

The cool part? I had a solid support system cheering me on, and that made all the difference.

Alright, let’s dive into the fun stuff – my personal interests and the passions that light up my world. First and foremost, I’m a web developer specializing in WordPress, always eager to explore the latest news and stay up-to-date about it. Whether I’m geeking out over theme development or immersing myself in the world of plugin development, you’ll find me totally in my element. I’ve also got this thing for PHP and Laravel – it’s the perfect blend of random and fascinating.

Now, let’s talk passions and hobbies. I’m all about coding; it’s my go-to for unwinding and finding my zen. When I’m not knee-deep in that, you can catch me improving myself in Muay Thai, where I channel my anger, stressful life and just lose track of time.

When I first discovered WordPress during my internship, I instantly fell in love with it. My supervisor introduced me to this incredible platform, and I was amazed by its versatility. I realized that WordPress is not just limited to building websites; it offers so much more. This ignited a desire within me to learn everything I could about WordPress. I started doing freelancing work and delved into the world of theme and plugin development.

Although I have a passion for coding and even built an Android app for my final year project, I found myself gravitating more towards web development. Thankfully, my educational background provided me with a solid foundation in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, PHP, and Laravel.

With this knowledge, I was able to create two calculators that not only benefit my daily life but also assist others. Additionally, I had the opportunity to build a WordPress plugin, further expanding my skills and contributing to the WordPress community.

So, the whole point of creating this blog is to share some cool stuff about WordPress, coding, and all things tech-related. I want to spread the knowledge and help people out with tips and tricks in these areas. But hey, it’s not all serious business here!

I also want to give you a glimpse into my personal life and share some of my hobbies, like jamming on the guitar or kicking some butt in Muay Thai or anything I do. It’s a way for us to connect on a more personal level, you know?

My main goal is to make sure that anyone who stumbles upon my blog gets something out of it, even if it’s just a tiny bit of benefit from what I share.
